What We're Doing When We're Not Doing Mr. B's
Sometimes in small business life it can feel like what you do takes over. But we try to be very intentional about not "taking work home" when we can, so that we can enjoy the blessings in this life that God has to offer. Here are some of our favorite things to do:
Community. We value living life with others, so many of our days are spent with family and friends. Whether connecting over coffee, or gathering at the beach, or a leisurely dinner full of conversation and wild kids running around, we love to connect with people.
Reading. A while back we started reading books out loud together, and it has become a fun way to connect and unwind. Also great for long car rides. We are currently reading Thomas Jefferson and the Tripoli Pirates by Brian Kilmeade and Don Yaeger. We’ve also been doing a lot more reading in the evenings at home since we got rid of our tv and our wifi.
Exploring. While this isn't necessarily a daily occurrence, we love getting out and exploring as a family. Sometimes it's just for a neighborhood walk to pick flowers, but even this little act is so enjoyable. There's a fun nature preserve a short drive away from us and it is a great place to go and explore the creek and climb on rocks.
Camping. We love camping. There's something about getting away from home, from the business of daily life, and getting out into nature that is so nourishing and refreshing.
Please understand that we are not the best at this, so we would appreciate your encouragement and hope you feel encouraged by us. It’s easy for us to fall into old habits, to waste time and fill our days with things that sap rather than give life.
