Sweet Smelling Flowers for Your Home
“I must have flowers, always, and always.”
-Claude Monet
Filling our home with flowers is such a delight. In fact, we love it so much that this Spring we are planting a cut flower garden so we have access to fresh blooms on a daily basis. Plus, our daughter delights in flowers more than anyone I know, and pretty much can’t walk outside without gathering a bouquet of something. Today it was grass, but usually its flowers.
Not only are flowers so beautiful, but if you pick the right ones, they fill your home with their sweet scent. Are you feeling inspired to add some fresh flowers to your home? Here is a list of some particularly sweet smelling ones:
- Freesia
- Tuberose
- Lilacs
- Gardenia
- Rose
- Jasmine
- Peony
- Hyacinth
- Sweet Pea
Our favorites are jasmine and tuberose. When they are in season, we buy tuberose from a grower at the local farmers market and just one stem is enough to fill a room with it’s sweet exotic scent. Oh, and sweet peas would have to be a favorite as well, although they don’t last very long when cut. They're a great choice for planting in your garden so you can take a small cutting whenever you desire.
