While Elemi might not be on the top of you mind when you think about essential oils, it should be. This is a great one to add to any oil collection.

This tree can grow to heights of 90 feet and are most permanently found in the Philippines, Brazil and Central America. In Arabic, Elemi means above and below, a reference to it's uses in many rituals pertaining to this life as well as the afterlife. Rendered from the dried resin, Elemi oil is a relative of frankincense and myrrh and carries many of the same benefits it's sister plants at a fraction of the cost. Most notably, Elemi is fantastic healer of chest and lung related ailments, including bronchitis, chest colds and coughs. This oil is also well known for it's ability to rejuvenate dry, mature skin, helping with wrinkles and sagging.
